Well hello everyone . I plan on changing this blog into a local sports blog. The plan is to post and show results of local sporting events so all of you can have a location that you can go to and find out how your favorite team or athlete has done in their last contest.
Up coming events to look for will be the always big Homer Vs. Cortland football game Friday September, 30 at 7:00 at Butts field. The Trojans are coming into this game 3-1 winning their first two games then dropping one against Chittenago at home. They bounced back the following week in Solvay winning big on the road. The Trojans are hoping to carry their momentum back home to host the cross town rivals Purple Tigers from Cortland.
Homer's JV football team travel to Cortland Saturday morning at 10:00am in Cortland. The Trojans will try to keep their 4-0 start perfect against the always tough Cortland JV team.
Next week is the start of Super Dirt Week in Syracuse. This year is the 40Th anniversary of the Daytona of North East Dirt modified series. 1972 was the start of this full week of racing on the Moody Mile hosting the best dirt modified racers in the country. Buzzie Ruteman ( Father of Nascar driver David Reutiman) won the first two races on the mile in the fall classic. Buzzie piloted his (Dover Brake) sponserd 00 coupe from Zepherhills Florida to victory in the first two Shaffer 100's making him a legend in the Dirt Modified world for ever.
Check back daily for updates to find out who is fast , and who might be struggling tyring to make the field in Syracuse next week . also I will be posting images from Dirt Week letting you see their always beautiful cars from SDW.
